Tip #5.2 Message Forum

Any information you put in this function will show up under the Tab "Message Forum", so that means any classmate that does not click on the "Message Forum" tab will not see your information.  It is specific, classmate must visit this tab in order to see what you posted.

Caveat:  If classmate told the system to "Notify" when Message Forum is updated, then the system will tell them there is activity.

You can click on this tab and it will take you to the "Message Forum" section.

  1. You can create a new message, post a response, add photo's, etc., lots of editing features that are available to you once you enter this function.
  2. This is very easy to use.
  3. Under the "Message Forum" box, you will find a small box, with "Post Response" in red, click on that box.
  4. A new page will open up with "Message Forum - Add Response", click on the white space under the editing features.
  5. You can now key in your information, you can also bring in photos, do text editing, change fonts, colors, pretty much an open pallet.
  6. If you are responding to someones posting, mention their name or the message number, they are each given a sequential number, if you mention that number then everyone will know what you are responding to.
  7. When you finish with your information, do not leave this section until you go to the bottom and click on "Save Changes", if you do not click on "Save Changes" and leave, it will be gone and you will have to start all over.  A word to the wise, if you have several bits of information to put in, I would use the old saying of saving what you did, then use the edit feature to add more, this will save you some rekeying in the long run.  When you save, it will give your comment a sequential number and you can also delete what you put in or edit to make changes or add to it.
  8. Fellow classmates can put in their message, but not inside of your message, make reference to your name and/or the sequential number to help everyone know what they are responding to.
  9. Comments:
    • Classmates would create their own response number (system will generate the number), and you would need to view all to pick out the ones that are responding to your generated response.
    • Everyone who visits the "Message Forum" will see this, if you want to select only specific classmates, this is not the feature to use.
    • Classmates have the option under "Member Functions", tab "Notify Me" to tell the system when a new response is posted in the Message Forum they can tell the system to notify them immediately, once daily or never, just so you know.
