HAPPY BIRTHDAY EVELYN!
Hmmm . . . 1962 GRADUATION MEMORIES - I recall sitting on the grass at the old ISU "Spud Bowl" (now Davis Field) with my long-time friend, Dave Triplett. Dave and I had gone there late one afternoon to workout. Dave said something then, that now he may have forgotten, I but that I never did forget. Dave stated something like the following: "Soon our high school years are going to be over. Some of us will take regular jobs, some will go into the military, and still others will go on to college. Later on we will have our own careers, homes, and families. We are going to be putting down roots. Never again will we be as free as we now are." As I mentioned, today I do not even know if Dave still remembers saying these things, but at the time I found what he said was profound. Now, 61 years later, I still do.

"What is more important," asked the pupil, "the journey of the destination?" "The company," said the teacher.

SOMETHING TO REFLECT UPON:
We in the PHS "Class of 62" are members of the so-called "Silent Generation." The people in the Silent Generation were born between 1925 and 1945. There now are 19 million of us left. The current population of the United States is 331.9 million.
Riddle:
"I can bring tears to your eyes; resurrect the dead; make you smile; and even reverse time." What am I?
Answer: "A Memory"
